Farm Based Experiential Learning (FaBEL)

Our goal is happy, healthy students learning substantive life skills on the farm and in the garden, understanding their food sources and uplifting the community. Hands-on engagement in FaBEL programs provides students with authentic education, improves eating habits, enhances social and emotional engagement, and promotes connection to the environment.

Many of our programs are run in our Educational Greenhouse learning center.

The Educational Greenhouse is a shared-use space and provides collaborations with area organizations and educational institutions to teach plant science, nature connection, greenhouse management, and four-season production techniques.

This year we are hosting a series of Educational Workshops, many of which will be held in our Rotary Greenhouse space. For the time being we have paused our FABEL programming for children as we continue to navigate a post Covid learning environment in our area.

Even though we have paused classes run by our educators we are open to partnering with other organizations at this time that may want to utilize our Greenhouse Educational space. If you are interested in hosting a workshop and partnering with us to get more kids involved at our spaces this year please contact Emma Hileman, Program Director at [email protected].

Ongoing support for our programming means we will be able to revive most of our FABEL programming in the future: Click here to support Farm Based Experiential Learning programs in our region!
